Our Goals
Each year Elebaby aims to donate a portion of our earnings to the a nonprofit craniofacial organization whose dedicated to advancing clinical care and research for individuals affected by cleft and craniofacial conditions. Elebaby will also donate to an additional nonprofit organization for children that will be voted by our subscribers each year.
Craniosynostosis is a rare condition that prematurely fuses one or more cranial sutures in children, affecting skull growth and leading to craniofacial differences. My son, Kian, was born with craniosynostosis and had his first surgery at three months old, followed by another surgery when he was one year old.
Children with cleft palate or craniofacial conditions often undergo multiple complex surgeries and therapies throughout their lives, facing challenges that can impact their self-confidence and social interactions.
Having experience in adult and pediatric neurosurgery as a PA, I was able to recognize my son's condition early, which is not always the case for others. Many children are diagnosed later, making their surgeries more complicated. My son received his surgeries at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC. He has undergone over a year of cranial helmeting, physical and occupational therapy, speech therapy, and ongoing care from neurosurgery, plastic surgery, ENT, and neuro-ophthalmology specialists.
What started as a general idea for a children’s boutique during my maternity leave has grown into a deeper mission. Elebaby embodies a pure commitment to making a meaningful impact in the world, starting with our support for organizations that aim to bring awareness and assistance for children and families affected by craniofacial conditions. While Elebaby may be small, it holds significant potential to raise awareness and contribute to many causes for children that matter.
